Time Line...

This is another poem which I wrote early this morning. Sometimes, it is easy for me to write down my thoughts when Im inspired and looking back for the things that Ive accomplished for the past days. Well, it is something good for the start of the New Year... Time Line tells me my past, present and the future!

Yesterday is always be the past

While today is always be the present

And tomorrow is always be the future

Yesterday is the start of today

While today is the future’s beginning

And tomorrow is the end of today!

The day before today is the past

But the day after yesterday is the present

While the day ahead of today is the future

The past is the good place to visit

But the present is the better place to live

While the future is the best place to go!

Ang Akun Kinabuhi (Ang Aking Buhay)

Tunay na ang buhay ay sadyang mahalaga at dapat ingatan. Tayong lahat ay may pagkakataon na baguhin ang ating buhay para ito ay maging makabuluhan sa mga taong ating minamahal at lalung-lalo sa sarili. Bawat tao ay binigyan ng Diyos ng kalayaan para hanapin ang kaligayahan at kasaganaan sa buhay. At higit sa lahat mamuhay ng mapalayapa, may dangal at takot sa Diyos na siyang gawa ng lahat sa ibabaw ng lupa.

Malipayun kami bisan pobre ang kamutangan

Akun mga maguyang di kami ginbaya-an

Kag ang akun mga paryiente nagbulig gid

Para kami tanan ng akun mga manghud

Makapaggraduar sa kolehiyo

Naghutuhot gid aku bisan mahuga sa eskwela

Ngani nyan maayu na ang amun kinabuhi

Bisan malayu man aku sa akun panimalay

Ara gihapun aku sa uras ng kalisud

Maski diin aku, nadumdum ku gid sinda tanan.

Kwarenta’y-uno na katuig ang nagligad

Madamu na ang akun naagihan na kalisud kag kalipay

Di gid nagbag-o ang akun batasan kag prinsipyo

Nakapati gid aku na si Hesus ay ara sa akun luyo

Palangga nya ang akun pamilya - nyan, buwas, o maski san-u man!

Maligaya kami kahit  mahirap ang kalagayan

Ang aking magulang hindi nila kami pinabayaan

At ang aking mga kamag-anak ay tumulong ng tapat

Para lahat kami ng aking mga kapatid

Makapagtapos ng kolehiyo

Nagsikap ako ng husto kahit mahirap ang pag-aaral

Kaya ngayon maganda na ang aming buhay

Kahit malayo man ako sa aking pamilya

Nandiyan pa rin ako sa oras ng kagipitan

Kahit nasaan ako, palagi ko silang lahat iniisip.

Apat-na-pu’t-isang taon na ang lumipas

Marami na ang aking naranasan na hirap at saya

At hindi nagbago ang aking ugali at pananaw

Naniniwala ako ng lubos na si Hesus ay nasa aking tabi

Mahal niya ang aking pamilya – ngayon, bukas o magpakailanman!

My Perfect Provider

This is my very first free-verse poem written in Northern Ireland since I arrived here last Sept 2005. I was inspired to write this while listening to the guest lecturer in a Christian church where one of my Polish friends always go every Sunday...

 

   YOU ALWAYS PROVIDE

     … a place for me to stay

       … the food and water for my hunger and thirst

         … a family and friends to comfort me

          … the knowledge that I need to gain

             … the good news to uplift my spirit!

   BECAUSE YOU

       … are the one who created and control everything

         … died on the cross to redeem my sins

           … give a life for me to treasure and enjoy

              … will always love me for whatever I am

                … will always be there to care for me – now and forever!

In God's Presence

This poem was written during my first semester at UQ (Australia) in 2002. This is the first literary work that i wrote in a foreign land. It was not really my lowest point in my life why i wrote this poem, however, i just felt His strong presence during those early days of my stay in Brisbane. Well, not only during those days but for my entire stay as a postgrad student that He always there to remind me of the 'purpose of living'. Sharing this poetic piece is also showing my faith on Him, how lucky I am to enjoy the so called 'life'.

In Your Presence . . .

            in Your presence,

                                    i feel your breathe of comfort,

                                                easing the pain from my worldly desire –

                                                and everything turns fine.

            in Your presence,

                                    i feel your forgiveness

                                                giving me another chance to try

                                                do more things worth living –

                                                and able to forget the hurt feelings.

            in Your presence,

                                    i found PEACE, that everyone’s looking for

                                                calmness and quietness of mind –

                                                an openness to face the world with pride.

                                    i found HOPE, a single sound that conquers all

                                                the promise of the future’s beginning.

                                    and i found LOVE – a golden word

                                               that brings joy to my weary heart!                           

Chinese new year

i had a chance to join a competition last year 2005 advertised in the Daily Enquirer to write something on chinese new year celebration. participants were asked to tell 'why hongkong is the ideal place to celebrate chinese new year?' in not more than 5 sentences. using my poetic mind i submitted two entries, unfortunately i did not win. well, it was worth trying and make a difference!

H-oliday destination for people around the world,

O-ffering traditional New Year celebrations for young and old.

N-ew territory for the whole family and friends to remember,

G-ood-luck motto from lai see’s greeting, a big hit ever!

K-ung hei fat choy - brings hope and joy,

O-ver-crowded streets of shows, everyone dares to enjoy.

N-othing compares to its red lanterns - yung siu, and

G-old-colored fruits of kumquat for prosperity!

C-elebrations for hope, success and prosperity

H-ong Kong, holiday destination for people around the world

I-deal new territory for families and friends

N-ation’s offerings -yung siu, kumquat, and lai see’s greetings

A-lluring country for traditional shows and excitement!

If Only...

This freely-verse poem was conceived right after i watched the movie, IF ONLY...it touched the soft spot of my heart...unfortunately, i cant find the original handwritten version of the poem, so i decided to compose the new line verses just to remind me of the movie considering that the movie was filmed in London, and some of the scenes where the places i visited in 2003 during my uk-european trip!

If only... i could turn the clock's hands, and make wrong things turn right, no bad memories from the past and the future turns bright...

If only... i have the power to unite nations, with common desire and inspirations!... no war, no famine, and no conflict...indeed - living is truly a blessing...

if only... i could hold the time... no worries of getting old and die. everything is timeless, no hurry and everyone is having a good time.

If only... i could talk to Him, my Creator... and share my doubts and  fears. lifting my spirit and feel His love and care!
